In July 2017, the 28th International Montessori Congress is being held in Prague, Czech Republic. And Mary Ellen Maunz is invited to speak at one of the 90-minute breakout sessions!
Mary Ellen will be sharing her knowledge that she has garnered over the years about the parallels in thought between Maria Montessori (1870-1952) and John Amos Comenius (1592-1670). Comenius, a Czechoslovakian, is considered the father of modern education. Prague is ideal place to bring his fascinating work to light – a work where you can find the embryo of many of Montessori’s ideas.
Great Opportunities Need Help!
“It is a win-win for us to be part of the largest Montessori gathering anywhere on the planet, to be able to give our contribution,” Mary Ellen said, “to have conferees see the logo of Age of Montessori as one of the contributing organizations, and of course to give our faculty the opportunity to be refreshed with the latest thinking among leading Montessorians and be part of discussions of how we jointly go forward.”
We need your help to get Mary Ellen and Age of Montessori to Prague!
Age of Montessori can also become a sponsoring organization of the Congress. With 8,000 to 10,000 people expected to attend from all over the world, this is a great opportunity for Age of Montessori to be a part of the largest Montessori gathering in the world. At Age of Montessori, we are so deeply committed to spreading the word of Montessori in the most powerful ways we can, and we know many of you are too. We thank you in advance for any and all support you can give!
What is the cost? Airfare, food, lodging, ground transportation and registration fees will cost about $3,000 per person. It will cost $1,500 for us to gain great “name brand recognition” with our logo placed strategically around the conference site as a supporting member. As an online teacher training organization with students all over the world, this is a tremendous opportunity!

“Our students are the great beneficiaries of new learning as we bring the latest thinking to them.” Mary Ellen points out, “No movement stays still, nor does Montessori, and as a leader here in the US and many parts of the world, we want to remain at the forefront of Montessori as a force in worldwide education.”
