PART 1 – Montessori Online Distance Learning (11 months)

Your course of study begins with a deep and thorough study of child development, Montessori philosophy and psychology, overview of the elementary curriculum, as well as the spiritual preparation and transformation of the teacher. This rich content is taught through a robust, interactive online environment over a period of eleven months. This rich online component includes videos, online text, hard-copy text assignments, narrated PowerPoint shows, a series of essays to be uploaded, regular forums for dialogue between students and between students and faculty plus access to unique archived video footage of Elisabeth Caspari.

PART 2: In-person Residency

Elementary Montessori Student works

Learn hands-on how to give the Montessori elementary curriculum lessons during your summer Residency:

  • Elementary I: 4 Weeks – June 5-30 – Billings, Montana
  • Elementary II: 3 Weeks – June 12-30 – Billings, Montana

Residencies are held at the beautiful campus of Grace Montessori Academy in Billings, Montana.. This is an exceptionally beautiful and well-equipped school. Work with master teacher trainers Mary Ellen Maunz and Irma Rodriguez to get your high quality hands-on training.

PART 3 – Montessori Teaching Internship

Following your summer Residency, you then intern at qualified schools in your local area for one full school year, under the supervision of a head teacher and our Age of Montessori field representatives.

Final practical exams are held via SKYPE from each student’s internship classroom.

Certified in Early Childhood Elementary I and II, Mary Ellen was mentored for more than 20 years by Dr. Elisabeth Caspari, personal friend and student of Maria Montessori, as a trainer of teachers. The legacy lives on!

Elementary co-developer Irma Rodriguez, lives and works in Irma Rodriquez in Elementary Montessori ClassroomVictoria, British Columbia. She and Mary Ellen were trained at the International Center for Montessori Studies in Bergamo, Italy in 1974-1975. As lifelong Montessorians who are passionate about Montessori’s Cosmic Plan curriculum, they collaborated to make the highest quality Montessori elementary training available in a powerful, blended course to students throughout the world.
